The nature of 2 handed swords

2 handed swords are said to be faster weapon than others, twice as fast as according to numbers. Since I am still under the impression that weapon skill affects swing speed, in some tests I did with equivalent polearm. What I said is depend on the fact that I can swing a maximum of three times for every 2 of theirs; oftentimes it was 4 times for 3 or 5 for 4. A sword’s weakness is obvious in darkfall online’s melee combat where characters are oftentimes trading hits. This drawback is especially noticeable in 1v1 where you can afford to trade hits, usually it ends up with you are dead.
